Nobis Restaurant Division — Operahuset

In the heart of Stockholm, at Karl XII Square, Nobis has for decades brought together some of the city’s most renowned restaurants and gathering places. Operakällaren, Operaterrassen, Café Opera, and Operabaren have all had their own distinct identities—but there has long been a call for a clear structure to tie the whole concept together.

Four strong brands under one roof are an asset—until they start competing for the same guest. Then that strength turns into confusion: Who is the provider? What exactly are you booking? And where do you go if you want something other than what you came for?

In collaboration with FRIMA, we conducted a comprehensive analysis of the business: how are the venue’s brands perceived by guests, event bookers, and partners—and where do the boundaries between them lie? The analysis highlighted the strengths of each individual brand and identified areas where greater clarity was needed.

The result was the Opera House—a unified platform that brings the venue’s brands together under a single name. A shared brand identity with a clear hierarchy, where the history of Operakällaren, the vibrancy of Café Opera, and the views from Operaterrassen complement one another rather than compete. No part is diminished by being part of a whole; that is the whole point.

FRIMA has been involved throughout the entire process and has been responsible for strategy, graphic identity, copywriting, photography, the website, and social media. Every element—from typography to tone—is designed to carry a building with more than a century of history into the future. A legacy of that stature demands care, but care must not be confused with stagnation.

With a clearer structure and consistent communication, it is now easier for guests and event planners to navigate the venue’s unique offerings—and easier for the Opera House to tell a cohesive story.

We have a feeling this is the beginning of a wonderful friendship

Should we meet up?
